Kinja'd!!!

I have two kids and a beautiful wife. We all possess walk in closets full of garments hanging on coat hangers. NOT ONE OF THEM METAL!?!? Needed a freaking wire coat hanger for a little diy project and nothing but plastic junk! What the hell they’ve gotten me out of so many jams in my years of existence how did I let my stock get down to zero?

I’ve cleaned clogged drains, strapped my busted exhaust to broken muffler mounts to stop the trail of sparks, broken into cars (not the crime style more like the I or a friend locked keys inside of said car), fished keys out of a sewer, fixed sagging plants, scaled a mountain (that one was a lie). The list could go on. Tomorrow I will find a 20 pack and I’ll hide them in my bug out bag because the wire coat hanger will be worth more than nearly anything ( well maybe not more than bullets/gasoline/tampons/water/food not in that order) in a post apocalyptic environment.

wire hangers are so handy to have... especially for routing wires in tight spaces or where you can’t reach

A friend of mine in high school locked his keys in his car so many times that he decided to wrap a wire coat hanger around the luggage rack so he’d always have one handy for the next time.

What, you can’t find some of these lying around somewhere? I find the metal frames in these to work very well for many uses you state.

...I still haven’t gotten over four walk-in closets.

I do possess wire coat hangers though! I think I win.

I think I have more closet Sq ft now than my first apartment’s total sq. Didn’t mention the guest bedroom, pantry (I guess it a closet and I can walk in it) or the coat closet. But yes you win all my closets have cost me dearly when it comes to my car stable..

I somehow fixed a radiator leak with one and reattached a muffler with one. I’m not even that good a mechanic. I bet there’s some crazy stories on here.

Just use a dry cleaners every once in a while and you’ll get some wire hangers.

Hit up yr local laundromat. Bring quarters. Get hangers.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

while our washing machine was broken a while back, we found this at the laundromat. didn't need the hangers, but had to try it to see if it was real. was not disappointed.

We don’t have many in the house, but whenever Mrs McMike brings some home from the dry cleaners she always checks with me before throwing them away. “Do you need any for the garage?” she asks.

I just checked, and I only have one. I need to go get some of her clothes dirty. brb

I feel bad for trashing the hundreds of metal hangers I've been collecting from the dry cleaners.

I steal my wire hangers from work. uniform guy always leaves a big stack of them in the break room. i usually have half a dozen or so in a drawer in my shop. I actually prefer them to real brazing rod.

Back in the day. Friend who worked for my Dad bought a Cadillac and was bragging about the alarm system he had installed, how nobody was going to break into his car without him knowing it. I had been working a dealership job for about a year, it was the mid 70's. Within 10 minutes I had grabbed a coat hanger , opened his car without the shaker alarm sensing me doing it and brought his glovebox belongings into my Dad’s business and set all of it on a counter in front of him. The proud new Cadillac owner said he must have left the doors unlock. I took him to the car, locked it and because of practice got in the next time in under 30 seconds.

I have also used it for cheap welding rod for fixing an exhaust with torches.

Have made many a hook for painting small parts from hangers.
